Recap: Green Forest Tigers vs. Omaha Eagles
The Green Forest Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 53-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Omaha. Green Forest was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Omaha apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.
Green Forest's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zak Watson, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Watson scored a full 32.6% of Green Forest's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hesten Maybee, who scored 15 points.
Green Forest bumped their record down to 5-12 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Omaha, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
Green Forest is on the road again on Friday and play against Strong at 11:20 a.m. on December 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arkansas (Strong is ranked 199th, while Green Forest is ranked 203rd). As for Omaha, they will be playing at home against Deer at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
