Baseball Recap: Halls' Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Halls had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They put the hurt on the Tipton Christian Academy Eagles with a sharp 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Jackson Booker and Landon Pipkin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Booker struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Pipkin tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Booker has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Booker scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Pipkin scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Booker a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tucker Ozment, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Sawyer Tetleton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Halls always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tipton Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .222.

Halls' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Tipton Christian Academy, they moved to 7-12 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Halls has already played their next contest (against South-Doyle), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Tipton Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Lakeland Preparatory at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
