Basketball Recap: Walton-Verona Skates Past Scott with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Walton-Verona). They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the Scott Eagles 98-65. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Bearcats have posted since January 4th.

Scott lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Aaron Hampton, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Dodd, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Walton-Verona and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Scott, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Walton-Verona will head out to face off against St. Xavier at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Xavier will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Walton-Verona surely won't give up without a fight. As for Scott, they will welcome Iroquois at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
