Football Game Preview: Fairfield Trojans vs. Mt. Pleasant Panthers

The Fairfield Trojans will face off against the Mt. Pleasant Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fairfield will be strutting in after a victory while Mt. Pleasant will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, Fairfield was able to grind out a solid win over Keokuk, taking the game 38-30. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Mt. Pleasant finally came back down to earth on Friday. They had to suffer through a 35-0 loss at the hands of Solon. The game marked the first time this season in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

Mt. Pleasant moved to 6-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Fairfield, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-5.

Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant were almost perfectly matched up in their previous meeting back in August of 2024, but Fairfield suffered an agonizing 13-12 defeat. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
