Recap: Twin Valley South Panthers vs. Miami Valley Rams

The Twin Valley South Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Miami Valley. Twin Valley South was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Miami Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.

Twin Valley South's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jandon Ankrom, who scored 13 points along with five assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Trent Ray, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.

Jacob Barnard continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Miami Valley, scoring 21 points along with four steals. Barnard hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Thomas Cook, who scored 12 points.

Twin Valley South has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Miami Valley, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Twin Valley South will square off against Mississinawa Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Twin Valley South focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday. As for Miami Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Legacy Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Legacy Christian Academy is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Miami Valley a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
