Baseball Recap: Alchesay Comes Up Short

Alchesay extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 15-9 in the process. They fell 5-2 to the Snowflake Lobos. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lobos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 last Wednesday.

Brett Cosay spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, Alchesay saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Cosay, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

As for Snowflake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The win was familiar territory for they, who have now won five games in a row.

On Snowflake's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Kyler Matthews gave up two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Gavin Rausch was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Xavier Reidhead was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Alchesay will take on rival Blue Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Snowflake is set to challenge their familiar foe Holbrook at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
