Basketball Game Preview: South Fort Myers Wolfpack vs. Community School of Naples Seahawks

The South Fort Myers Wolfpack will head out on the road to face off against the Community School of Naples Seahawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Fort Myers is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.2 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, South Fort Myers lost to Cypress Lake on the road by a 54-40 margin. The Wolfpack have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, South Fort Myers had strong showings from Ja?Mahdi Ward, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds, and Wildelson Thermidor, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. Ward has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 26 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Candido, who posted three points.

Even though they lost, South Fort Myers smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 11 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Community School of Naples unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 75-64 to Gateway Charter. While losing is never fun, the Seahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Griffins are ranked 44th).

South Fort Myers' defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Community School of Naples, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

South Fort Myers was taken down by Community School of Naples 79-44 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Community School of Naples' Jackson McAdams, who went 13 of 24 en route to 31 points and seven rebounds. Now that South Fort Myers knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
