Pearl was the 54-49 winner over Northwest Rankin when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pearl Pirates took a 63-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northwest Rankin Cougars on Tuesday. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Pearl's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Northwest Rankin, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Petal the next time they take the court. Pearl will host Petal at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Northwest Rankin will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
