Volleyball Recap: Pecatonica Takes a Loss

Pecatonica suffered their biggest defeat since October 26, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Argyle Orioles. The shutout was out of character for the Vikings seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

Pecatonica was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 25-23.

Loretta Tisch paced Pecatonica's offense, picking up 11 kills. Tisch got some help from Tatum Kurschner and her 14 assists. Kurschner was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Argyle found their leader in sophomore Brynn Harris, who had 14 digs.

This is the second loss in a row for Pecatonica and nudges their season record down to 12-7. As for Argyle, they pushed their record up to 23-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Pecatonica wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Black Hawk on the 16th. Argyle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
