Softball Recap: Toll Gate Has No Trouble Against Scituate

Toll Gate owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Scituate Spartans with a sharp 7-0 victory. For the Titans, this counts as revenge for the 4-1 win the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

The result came thanks to Delaney Wilson's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 16 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.7 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Toll Gate let Sophia Moreira and Reagan Motta run wild. Moreira went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double, while Motta went 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI. Those two hits gave Moreira a new career-high.

Toll Gate hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Scituate struck out 16 times.

Toll Gate is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Scituate, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
