Basketball Game Preview: Omaha Westside Warriors vs. Lincoln East Spartans

The Omaha Westside Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Lincoln East Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Omaha Westside knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Lincoln East likes a good challenge.

Omaha Westside is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Elkhorn South: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Omaha Westside blew Elkhorn South out of the water with a 78-47 final score. The Warriors have beaten the Storm the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Storm has come to flipping the script.

Omaha Westside's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Sanai Foster, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards, and Himayajo Metoyer, who went 6-for-12 en route to 13 points and five steals. That's the most rebounds Foster has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elise Pederson, who earned eight points in addition to seven boards and four blocks.

Meanwhile, Lincoln East posted their closest victory since February 2, 2024 on Saturday. They skirted past Columbus 29-26.

Omaha Westside pushed their record up to 16-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points over those games. As for Lincoln East, their record now sits at 7-15.

Omaha Westside took their victory against Lincoln East when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 58-33. In that matchup, Omaha Westside amassed a halftime lead of 35-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
