Recap: Schlagle/Washington Stallions vs. Highland Park Scots
If the Schlagle/Washington Stallions were feeling good off their 53-9 takedown of the Harmon Hawks back in December of 2023, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Schlagle/Washington was dealt a 63-34 loss at the hands of the Scots on Tuesday.
Highland Park was led to victory by Angelique Gowan-Britt and Pearmella Carter. Gowan-Britt scored 23 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Carter dropped a double-double on 22 points and 21 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gowan-Britt has scored all season. Another player making a difference was De'asia Sanders, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds and eight assists.
Schlagle/Washington dropped their record down to 2-4 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.7 points per game. As for Highland Park, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Schlagle/Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Highland Park won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Saints at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. Saint Thomas Aquinas is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
