Football Recap: Stringer's Rushing Dominance Continues

Stringer extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 4-1. They came out on top against the Mount Olive Pirates by a score of 34-22. That's more bragging rights for the Red Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jaheim Campbell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 360 yards and five scores while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Those 360 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Stringer was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 415 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in 14 consecutive games dating back to last season.

As for Mount Olive, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5. On the bright side, the 22- point effort marked their highest-scoring contest to date.

When it comes to explaining why Mount Olive lost, don't look at Skyelean Blackwell. Despite the final result, he threw for 225 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 73.7% of his passes.

Coming up, Stringer will venture away from home to square off against Taylorsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Red Devils their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Mount Olive, they will host St. Andrew's Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
