Coal City lost to Manteno back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Coalers came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 5-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Coalers.

A.J. Wills spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.

At the plate, Gabe McHugh was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Coal City's record is now 18-11. As for Manteno, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.

Coal City will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
