Soccer Game Preview: Pilgrim vs. North Providence + How To Watch

The Pilgrim Patriots will head out to face off against the North Providence Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Pilgrim is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Scituate, who was ranked sixth at the time (Pilgrim was ranked 14th). The Patriots came up short against the Spartans on Saturday, falling 6-2. The matchup was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for Pilgrim it sure didn't stay that way.

Hammam Alkhatabeh and Gabe Holland scored both of Pilgrim's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Meanwhile, North Providence came tearing into Friday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.6 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Villa Novans a 4-0 shutout. Give North Providence's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Pilgrim's loss dropped their record down to 8-4-1. As for North Providence, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
