Basketball Game Preview: Tradition Prep Pirates vs. Inlet Grove Hurricanes

Tradition Prep is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Inlet Grove is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tradition Prep Pirates will welcome the Inlet Grove Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Tradition Prep is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Lincoln Park Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Tradition Prep put the hurt on Lincoln Park Academy with a sharp 64-39 win on Friday. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 666th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tradition Prep can attribute much of their success to Jayden Harris, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaime Lauren, who posted nine points.

Tradition Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Inlet Grove made easy work of Somerset College Prep Academy on Friday and carried off a 66-46 victory.

Tradition Prep is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for Inlet Grove, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.

Tradition Prep beat Inlet Grove 64-56 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Will Tradition Prep repeat their success, or does Inlet Grove have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
