Basketball Recap: Prairie Central Find Success

Prairie Central posted their closest victory since December 10, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-61 win over the Athens Warriors.

Athens' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sawyer Hill, who went 7 of 10 to rack up 19 points and four steals. What's more, Hill also posted a 80% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was James Jones, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Prairie Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-19. As for Athens, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-15.

Prairie Central has already played their next contest (against Bloomington Central Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Athens, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-34 loss against Riverton on the 11th.
