Recap: El Camino Wildcats vs. La Costa Canyon Mavericks

It was a good run, but the El Camino Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 63-48 bruising from La Costa Canyon. El Camino was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as La Costa Canyon apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why El Camino lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isaiah Pomare. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. Terrion Woodard was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

El Camino's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for La Costa Canyon, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. El Camino will take on Carlsbad at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carlsbad has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 663 points over their last nine games. As for La Costa Canyon, they will head out on the road to challenge Torrey Pines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Torrey Pines' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
