Softball Preview: North Laurel Jaguars vs. Casey County Rebels
The North Laurel Jaguars will head out to face off against the Casey County Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Laurel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
North Laurel made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Perry County Central, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Jaguars fell just short of the Commodores by a score of 4-2 on Thursday.
Tessa Monhollen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Casey County had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They beat the Knights by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-4.
Casey County now has a winning record of 16-15. As for North Laurel, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 26-3-1.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. North Laurel hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .384. However, it's not like Casey County struggles in that department as they've averaged .318. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
