Basketball Recap: Coachella Valley Drops Season-High Score on Yucca Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coachella Valley). They breezed by the Yucca Valley Trojans to the tune of 85-53 on Tuesday. The Mighty Arabs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Israel Garcia, who went 12 for 26 on his way to 32 points along with five rebounds and five steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Joe Beltran was another key player, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards.

Coachella Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 51 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Coachella Valley's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Yucca Valley, they dropped their record down to 2-16 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coachella Valley will face off against Indio at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Indio knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Coachella Valley likes a good challenge. As for Yucca Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Twentynine Palms at 5:30 p.m. Twentynine Palms has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 195 points over their last three games.
