Basketball Recap: Hampton Comes Up Short

If Hampton was feeling good fresh off their 54-10 takedown of Forest Park last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hampton Hornets received a blow on Friday as they fell 60-42 to the Woodland Wolfpack. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-32 back in November of 2024.

Woodland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jada Little led the charge by going 7 of 12 en route to 14 points along with five assists and five boards. Another player making a difference was London Loyal, who posted nine points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Hampton now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Woodland, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.

Hampton has already played their next match, a 49-42 defeat against Union Grove on the 25th. As for Woodland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-34 loss against Jones County on the 25th.
