Football Recap: Sierra Takes a Loss

Sierra scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the Harrison Panthers, falling 37-14. If the Stallions were looking for revenge after losing 46-6 to the Panthers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Sierra still got an impressive performance from Patrick Robinson, who rushed for 141 yards and one TD while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Robinson is now averaging an impressive 102.8 rushing yards per game.

JEILO HAMENYIMANA had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 116 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, while also throwing for 55 yards and one TD for Harrison. Those 116 rushing yards gave HAMENYIMANA a new career-high. MICHAEL GRAY helped out on the ground, rushing for 84 yards and a rushing touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Sierra and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Harrison, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sierra will venture away from home to square off against Air Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Harrison, they will head out to face off against Canon City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
