Basketball Recap: Ascend Leadership Comes Up Short

Ascend Leadership was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were dealt a 69-15 loss at the hands of the Chatham Charter Knights. If the Aviators were looking for revenge after losing 81-43 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Chatham Charter found their leader in freshman Breylan Harris, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harris has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kymani Wagner-Jatta, who posted ten points and three steals.

Ascend Leadership's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Chatham Charter, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-8.

Ascend Leadership wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 70-33 loss against Woods Charter on the 29th. As for Chatham Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-51 win against Triangle Math & Science on the 30th.
