Soccer Game Preview: Hamilton vs. Catholic Memorial

The Hamilton Chargers will take on the Catholic Memorial Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Hamilton is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wisconsin's top teams: Divine Savior Holy Angels, who was ranked second at the time (Hamilton was ranked 22nd). The Chargers came up short against Divine Savior Holy Angels on Tuesday, falling 4-0. Having soared to a lofty six goals in the game before, Hamilton's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Catholic Memorial kept a clean sheet against Waukesha North on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Northstars with a sharp 5-0 victory. Considering Catholic Memorial have won six matches by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Catholic Memorial pushed their record up to 11-2-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those eight contests. As for Hamilton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4-1.

Hamilton beat Catholic Memorial by a goal when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 3-2. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
