Soccer Game Preview: Woodmont vs. Greenwood

For the first time this season, Woodmont will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They will look to defend their home pitch against the Greenwood Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Woodmont's offense. They fell 2-0 to Fountain Inn on Saturday. The loss was the Wildcats' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Greenwood had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Their defense stepped up to hand Walhalla a 1-0 shutout last Friday.

Having lost for the first time this season, Woodmont fell to 2-1. As for Greenwood, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Woodmont took their win against Greenwood in their previous meeting back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 7-2. In that game, Woodmont amassed a halftime lead of 5-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
