Baseball Game Preview: Rialto Knights vs. Kaiser Cats

For the second straight game, Rialto will face off against Kaiser. The Knights will welcome the Cats at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Rialto is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Kaiser just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Cats by a score of 5-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Kaiser's part, Zeke Isaak Cortez was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Cortez has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Aldo Garcia was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI. Jacob Mota was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Kaiser hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rialto struck out 11 times.

Kaiser's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Rialto, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
