Basketball Game Preview: Thornton Trojans vs. Skyview Wolverines

Thornton and Skyview are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Thornton Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Skyview Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Skyview took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Thornton, who comes in off a win.

Thornton will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Aurora Central, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Thornton managed a 40-35 win over Aurora Central on Thursday. The 40-point effort marked Thornton's lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Skyview lost to Gateway on the road by a 62-46 margin on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Olympians: they've now lost five in a row.

Thornton is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Skyview, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Everything came up roses for Thornton against Skyview in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured an 81-43 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Thornton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
