Basketball Recap: Reece Leavitt Key Part of a Team Effort in Bulldogs Win

Virgin Valley's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They strolled past the Fernley Vaqueros with points to spare, taking the game 54-36. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vaqueros, too.

Virgin Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reece Leavitt led the charge by putting up 17 points. Another player making a difference was Destry Tobler, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Despite the loss, Fernley still got an impressive performance from Nate Adams, who had ten points.

With the win, Virgin Valley broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4. As for Fernley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Virgin Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 28-23 victory against Pahrump Valley on the 26th. As for Fernley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-49 win against Mineral County on the 26th.
