Anthony Smith put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in March on Monday. He struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Deer Lakes: the team is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise.

Smith's effort led Deer Lakes over Yough and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are limping into the matchup having lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season.
