Baseball Recap: Bonneville Comes Up Short

Bonneville extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 7-10 in the process. They came up short against the Woods Cross Wildcats, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-5 on Wednesday.

Bonneville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jet Hirschi, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

As for Woods Cross, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-7. The contest marked their most dominant win of the season.

On Woods Cross' side, Beckham Stanger made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Stanger has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Woods Cross got a massive performance out of Max Moffat, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Moffat is becoming a predictor of the Wildcats' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Kason Lythgoe, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
