Basketball Recap: Gardendale's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

After a string of four wins, Gardendale's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jasper Vikings. The Rockets lost against the Vikings in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 57-21 score last time.

Jasper found their leader in sophomore Taniya Windham, who went 9 for 19 on her way to 25 points. Sk Bonner was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Gardendale's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Jasper, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Gardendale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-31 win against McAdory on the 28th. As for Jasper, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-43 victory against Huntsville on the 28th.
