Bishop Moore (Orlando, Fla.) outlasted
Wakulla (Crawfordville, Fla.), 37-34, in Florida's Class 5A state title game played Friday afternoon at the Citrus Bowl.
An 18-yard touchdown run by
Trey Page with 70 seconds remaining made the difference for Bishop Moore. A 50-yard field goal attempt by Wakulla sailed wide as time expired to secure Bishop Moore's first state title since 1970.
After Wakulla got out to a 21-17 lead at the half, Bishop Moore was able to slow down the team's explosive offense, featuring Florida-committed quarterback

Keith Gavin.
Rayshad Lewis, son of former NFL linebacker Ray Lewis, had a huge game for Bishop Moore, posting 94 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also received contributions in the trenches from star offensive lineman
Parker Boudreaux, a Notre Dame commit.
The Class 5A title game was the first of the weekend in the FHSAA playoffs. St. Thomas Aquinas plays Viera in the Class 7A title game Friday night, while the Class 6A and 8A games are set for Saturday.
