Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pennridge). They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Lower Moreland Lions on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by exactly 15 runs.
Destiny Novashinski spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Averi Dockery was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Meghan Holberg, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pennridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lower Moreland only managed four hits.
The win made it two in a row for Pennridge and bumps their season record up to 6-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pennridge will square off against Abington at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lower Moreland, they will face off against Cheltenham at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
