Volleyball Game Preview: Coral Shores Hurricanes vs. Key West Conchs

Coral Shores is 2-8 against Key West since September of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Hurricanes will head out to challenge the Conchs at 5:30 p.m. Key West took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Coral Shores, who comes in off a win.

Key West will be up against a hot Coral Shores squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Hurricanes put the hurt on Mater Bay Academy with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Coral Shores took every set by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-4, 25-8, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Key West came up short against Spanish River on Saturday and fell 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-19, 19-25, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Key West saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Journey Lamb had 15 digs. Those 15 digs set a new season-high mark for Lamb.

Coral Shores' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Key West, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coral Shores couldn't quite get it done against Key West when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Hurricanes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
