Basketball Recap: Weston-Mcewen Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

After losing to South Wasco County the last time they met, Weston-McEwen decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Weston-McEwen TigerScots strolled past the South Wasco County Redsides with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 49-30. Given the TigerScots' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Redsides are ranked 137th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Weston-McEwen's win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for South Wasco County, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 12-7 record.

Weston-McEwen will venture away from home to face off against Irrigon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Wasco County, they will welcome Lyle/Wishram at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
