Basketball Recap: IDEA Health Professions Sets Scoring Season-High Against IDEA Bluff Springs

IDEA Health Professions was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 30-25 heartbreaker at the hands of the IDEA Bluff Springs Bats. One positive for the Centaurs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Samantha Saucedo-Palencia, who went 7 of 14 en route to 22 points for IDEA Bluff Springs. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Saucedo-Palencia has scored at least a third of IDEA Bluff Springs' points. Another player making a difference was Je'Nise Solano, who posted six points.

IDEA Health Professions' loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for IDEA Bluff Springs, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Valor South Austin the next time they take the court. IDEA Health Professions will head out to face Valor South Austin at 6:45 p.m. on February 7th, while IDEA Bluff Springs will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on February 10th.
