Baseball Recap: Starmount Triumphs

While Starmount's win against Thomasville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Starmount Rams won by a run and slipped past the Thomasville Bulldogs 4-3. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Tristan Blevins and Wade Pfaff dominated on the mound. Blevins struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Pfaff struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Pfaff also tossed a walk, which is notable because Starmount is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-2 otherwise.

Starmount now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Thomasville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Starmount will take on North Stokes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Thomasville, they will square off against North Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Rowan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
