Football Recap: Pike Central Chargers vs. Clarksville Generals
Pike Central gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Clarksville Generals 35-0 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Chargers have posted since August 26, 2023.
Pike Central was led to victory by Grant Boyd and Matthew Meadows. Boyd rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, while Meadows rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown.
Boyd wasn't the only one working in the rushing yards department: Pike Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 255 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clarksville only rushed for six.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pike Central will venture away from home to square off against Tecumseh at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Clarksville, they will head out on the road to take on West Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clarksville is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
