Softball Recap: Chaminade Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

On Tuesday, the Chaminade Eagles came up short against the Paraclete Spirits and fell 10-6.

Finley Suppan put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those RBI were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Norah Pettersen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Kathleen Katz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Chaminade's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Paraclete, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 3-0-1.

Looking ahead, Chaminade will be taking part in a tournament against Saugus at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Chaminade is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season. As for Paraclete, they will welcome Oak Hills at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Paraclete knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Oak Hills likes a good challenge.
