Basketball Game Preview: Boone Grove Wolves vs. North Newton Spartans

The Boone Grove Wolves will head out on the road to square off against the North Newton Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boone Grove has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 13.

Last Friday, Boone Grove took a blow against Westville, falling 73-31. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while the Blackhawks are ranked 22nd).

Meanwhile, North Newton played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 64-11 loss at the hands of Faith Christian. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

North Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Boone Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Boone Grove didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against North Newton in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 39-35 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was North Newton's Makenna Schleman, who went 9 for 16 on her way to 25 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Now that she won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be easier for Boone Grove to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
