Basketball Recap: Cottage Hill Christian Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Cottage Hill Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 69-52 win over the Robertsdale Golden Bears on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 76-56 back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Robertsdale saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Skyler Washington went 7 of 16 on his way to 16 points in addition to six assists and five steals. The dominant performance gave Washington a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Koehn Turner, who posted eight points and four steals.

Cottage Hill Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-10. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Robertsdale, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cottage Hill Christian Academy will host Bayside Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Robertsdale, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Daphne at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Daphne's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
