Volleyball Recap: Norton's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After a string of four wins, Norton's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thomas More Prep-Marian Monarchs. The Bluejays were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Monarchs earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 27-25.

Audrey Bina paced Norton's offense, picking up 14 kills. Bina got some help from Leah Clark and her 31 assists. Finally, Alexis David kept Norton's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Norton's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Thomas More Prep-Marian, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 22-12.

Norton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Oakley on the 11th. As for Thomas More Prep-Marian, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Smith Center on the 11th.
