Basketball Recap: Camp Verde Skates Past Anthem Prep with Ease

Camp Verde's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Anthem Prep Eagles 57-11. The Cowboys have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Camp Verde's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jazmin Torres led the charge by going 5 for 9 on her way to 10 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Torres has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Bleak, who went 5 of 11 en route to 10 points and eight rebounds.

Camp Verde was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Anthem Prep only posted four assists.

Camp Verde's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Anthem Prep, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-6.

Camp Verde wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-37 loss against Glendale Prep Academy on the 20th. As for Anthem Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-16 defeat against Scottsdale Preparatory Academy on the 21st.
