Basketball Recap: Messalonskee Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Messalonskee won the last time they faced Cony and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Messalonskee Eagles had just enough and edged the Cony Rams out 51-48. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Rams are ranked 68th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Messalonskee's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. As for Cony, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-7 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Messalonskee will welcome Gardiner at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cony, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Blue at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Blue knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Cony likes a good challenge.
