Basketball Game Preview: Gloucester Dukes vs. Phoebus Phantoms

Gloucester hasn't had much luck against Phoebus recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Gloucester Dukes will welcome the Phoebus Phantoms at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Gloucester turned things around against Walsingham Academy two weeks ago. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 72-51 victory.

Meanwhile, Phoebus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lakeland.

Gloucester's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Phoebus, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Gloucester might still be hurting after the 76-51 defeat they got from Phoebus in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Gloucester avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
