Soccer Recap: Riverton Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Riverton barely beat Salt Lake Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Riverton put the hurt on Salt Lake Academy with a sharp 3-0 win on Friday. Considering Riverton have won three contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lincoln Payne and Spencer Blanchard scored all three of Riverton's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Riverton pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for Salt Lake Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Riverton is taking a road trip to face off against Herriman at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Herriman's last five matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Salt Lake Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 4-1 victory against Mountain Ridge on the 24th.
