Hayden found their leader in underclassman Taryn Schlim, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Schlim has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. Ella Harris was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Rangely waltzed into their game on Saturday with 12 straight wins but they left with 13. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Vail Christian 85-11 at home. Rangely has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 25 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Miah Wren, who scored 24 points along with five steals. She hasn't dropped below four steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Annika Cantrell, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
Hayden's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Rangely, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Hayden have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.8 rebounds per game.
