Pettus came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 17-5 to the Refugio Bobcats. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Pettus' defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Refugio, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pettus will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Woodsboro at 6:00 p.m. on the 25th. As for Refugio, they will square off against Port Aransas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Marlins a five-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
