Softball Recap: West Holmes Takes a Loss

West Holmes's last matchup with Lexington could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Tuesday. The Knights came up short against the Minutemen, falling 9-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Minutemen: they've now lost three in a row.

West Holmes saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was BRIAR CLINE, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. PAYTON HUDSON also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

West Holmes' loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Lexington, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

West Holmes will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Maysville at 5:00 p.m. on the 11th. As for Lexington, they will host Fredericktown at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
