Volleyball Recap: Mount Vernon Comes Up Short

Mount Vernon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. George's Gryphons.

Mount Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for St. George's, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-5.

Mount Vernon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Baylor on the 12th. As for St. George's, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Rhea County on the 12th.
